Ideal for use when "Blind Baking" the ceramic beans conduct the heat evenly to help prevent pastry from shrinking away from the sides of the baking tin or pie dish.
They also ensure the base of your Tart is cooked properly.
Once your pastry is in its dish prick it several times with a folk, cover with tinfoil then add your baking beans. Pop your pastry base or flan into the oven to bake.
Average contents 500g (sufficient for a 25.5cm (10") flan).
